Fun Thing to do Around Coco

Campers go on gently paced half-day and full-day hikes accompanied by experienced counselors. They follow marked trails through dry tropical forests and pastures of outstanding natural beauty. Once during their trip, campers hike up to the waterfalls outpost where our experienced warden introduces them to map reading. Campers will be able to learn about howler monkeys, different bird species, many habitats and ecosystems and see first-hand the stunning flora and fauna of Costa Rica

Spanish Lessons
Students will receive 120 minutes daily Spanish lessons on week days, taught by teachers with Spanish as their native language. A Spanish evaluation will be made to campers the first day of Spanish lessons to verify their Spanish level. Every student receives a textbook and certificate of attendance. Our teaching method specifically encourages the student to participate actively in the lessons. Audio-visual aids and learning documentaries are used and complete the program, giving the students a good insight into the country´s culture and any particular topic. Additional language courses in Spanish are available for an additional fee of US$30.00 per hour.
Sailboat Cruise & Snorkel
Nothing beats a day on the ocean, especially in Costa Rica! On this excursion we will take a sailboat cruise along the Pacific Coast where campers can try fishing, sea kayaking, world-class snorkeling and end the day with a stunning sunset. Lazy Lizard crew members are licensed Costa Rican marineros/captains who have been trained specifically to ensure your safety during your trip. They are very knowledgeable about ocean conditions and marine wildlife and they are happy to share their passion by answering any questions you may have.

Adventure to Hacienda Guachipelin
Experience the very best of Costa Rica in one action-packed day! Campers will have an adventure in the national rain forest of Rincon de la Vieja and bond as a group doing several exciting activities. During this excursion participants will enjoy zip-lining through the jungle canopy, visit a breathtaking waterfall, enjoy a thrilling horseback ride through nature, exciting white-water tubing, and relax in natural volcanic hot springs. It is sure to be a highlight of your trip to Costa Rica and will create memories to last a lifetime.
Surf Lessons
Surfing and Costa Rica go hand-in-hand. Campers will have the unique opportunity to learn how to surf from Roxy Team pro surfer, Andrea Diaz Coto. We will travel to Tamarindo Beach where some of the world's best surfers were born. Campers will spend some time on the beach learning surfing techniques and safety, then hit the water for a morning full of sun and surf! We guarantee that each teen will be up and surfing within an hour or two. An experience sure to be fun and memorable.

Stand-Up Paddle Boarding
Campers will enjoy a day at the beach and explore the ocean and surrounding coast line on a Stand-Up Paddle Board. They might also have the opportunity to be greeted by ocean wildlife like dolphins and sea turtles! Teens will be instructed by our expert SUP guide Erick before hitting the ocean.
